I've included the playlist file (playlist.xspf) as an attachment to this post. The song that plays locally off my PC works fine, but the one streaming off archive.org fails. As what I'm sure is a related matter, a complaint pops up for the first song too, since it references a jpeg hosted on my website.

It would seem that it's some sort of browser security thing, but I've tried to toggle the settings it's complaining about to no avail. Moreover, I wouldn't want users to get this message and be confused. It must be perfectly seamless. I've seen a number of other websites achieve this, so I'm confused why it complains when I try to do for my files.

I've also attached a screenshot of the error message I'm getting (error.bmp).

Currently, I'm running the music player off of a USB thumb drive, and pointing back to the playlist on said thumb drive. After I get this to work (IF I ever do...), I'm going to include a page on my website with code similar to the other file attached to this post (XSPF music player).

If you were able to get your XSPF player to stream off archive.org, can I see it? That is, will you please post a link to the page it's embedded in?

this error is normal when your play files from internet with XSPF player that is situated somewhere on your PC. as i remember, this is not a browser's security setting, but flash player's. when both of your XSPF swf and playlist files are working from server/website, there will be no error message.

players that are successfully streaming from archive are here: http://ku100ta.narod.ru/tapes.html
